祝我生日快乐
Published by Fang under Thoughts on 12:46 AMI just don’t get what the deal is with birthdays. Sometimes it just feels like I’m celebrating it so others can be happy. I mean, it’s no different from any other day. To honestly say people are celebrating the day that I was born seems more like a joke than anything. Maybe it’s just an excuse for people to go out and have fun because that’s what’s expected when somebody has a birthday coming up. Everyone gets all excited because a party’s about to happen and it’s going to be great.
Do people genuinely care that I was born on that specific day? Is that honestly what it’s all about? What if I really didn’t care about it, would I still need to celebrate it to fall within the social norm? Don’t get me wrong, there are people that I sincerely care about and hope actually appreciated my existence, but does that mean I have to wait once a year before I can see that they do?

I appreciate you everyday buddy. We're just celebrating your bday cause it's the one day of the year that is specifically yours and no one can take it away.
